The C19 pandemic has certainly changed peoples behaviour when it comes to boating.

Boat buying with new buyers has been over the top since April. We realized people were looking for a way to recreate with their families and social distance at the same time, consequently boat sales picked up significantly. Given the fluctuating restrictions, unknown duration and lasting effects of the pandemic, women are also embracing boating as a way for their families to safely connect with others and be active in the near-term.

According to industry sources 75 percent more women are shopping for boats. There has been a tidal wave of women shopping for boats this summer. Reports of banner-year boat sales have been making headlines and the latest data suggests the surge is partially due to women and mothers sequestered with kids, who have quickly directed their family and friends to the waterfront for some much-needed fun.

A yacht represents the ideal floating cottage without the long drive or property maintenance responsibilities. Whether its social distancing you are looking for, a weekend getaway to places in the Lake Ontario or week long relaxed holiday aboard, the yacht can easily accommodate a family and offer a multitude of water activities, or just pure relaxation and being surrounded by nature.

The YACHT Solutions Fractional Yachting or ‘Try it Before you Buy It‘ program are already getting tremendous interest for next season.  Fractional Yachting will boom because it addresses the needs people are looking for; They save time, minimize the investment risk, save money and enjoy boating at its best on a new boat.

Our advice is to lock in your spot now for the 2021 season with a 10% deposit. New 2021 26′ Sport Boat starts at $119,000 CAD or consider our Fractional Lease membership that include everything but fuel; Starting at $7900 for the season on a new 30′ Schaefer Yacht.

Most vacations this year had to be cancelled. However, people now are more aft to consider private yacht vacations versus the resort or cruise ship type of holiday, since the C19 outbreak. A number of charter companies are already noticing an uptick in demand in the Caribbean and the Bahamas for late 2020. Going into the winter vacation season, we will be able to include destinations like Grenada, St Lucia, St Martin, as these islands plan to open again as well as Tahiti for tourists.

Chartering on Canada’s west coast including the Sunshine Coast, Desolation Sound and the Gulf Islands has been popular as everything seems to be in full swing. The season winds down in October but starts up again in April.

So if you want your choice of boats, the time to book may be now. Same thing if you want to sail to Dubrovnik in Croatia or Mykonos in Greece next summer. Consider locking in a date quickly, since, in addition to normal summer demand, there will also be this year’s re-bookings to accommodate.

Many companies are also waiving change fees and scheduling charters well out into 2021. In other words, travel issues aside, there’s never been a better time to book your yacht vacation.
